Artist Bio
Upon starting at The Studio, John showed an instant affinity to working with clay. He immediately started making beautiful ceramic roses, some became a much sought after item at Studio art shows.
John also worked with acrylic paint. He liked to paint folksy pictures with rustic scenes and Native American imagery.
John was well known in the area for his generous spirit and the many different people he helped, notably children during Christmas. He was always a champion of those in need of protection.
John said he liked making art because "It's beautiful."
On Valentine's Day 2010, John Winwood passed away. Many friends and supporters of his art gathered for a memorial. His memory lives on in both his art and the thoughts of numerous people he helped through various charitable acts he performed throughout his life on the north coast.
