Artist Dawn Wentworth Dawn Wentworth

Dawn Wentworth started making art while growing up in Glendale, California. She moved to Eureka in 2004 to be closer to her brother. A couple of years later she heard about The Studio from the Redwood Coast Regional Center. Dawn had already done some painting and drawing at the local community college and thought that The Studio’s environment would work well for her.

Dawn is a very experimental artist. She is constantly appropriating whatever materials that come into her orbit and is continuously looking for ways to integrate them into her work. Mostly abstract, her work sometimes shows “found figures”, which are encouraged by her to arise within the colors and textures she has constructed in whatever medium she works.

Dawn also loves making mosaics. As she does in painting, Dawn will sometimes incorporate nontraditional materials into her process.

Dawn is involved in both the drama and video classes. She is also a member of The Sketch Club and both figure classes.
